Fr. Dcn. Thomas Nassif has been an active Christian his entire life. While serving as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near East and South Asian affairs during the Reagan administration, he initiated two Bible studies at the Department of State in Washington D.C. and another in the US Embassy in Rabat, Morocco where he served as the US Ambassador. He was involved in the National Prayer Breakfast while in Washington and participated in bible studies at the Pentagon, White House and in Congress. He was one of the founders of Saint Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in La Jolla CA and was its first Parish Council Chairman. Before being ordained a Deacon in 1999, he served at Saint Anthony as a sub-deacon.
He is an attorney-at-law by training and education and was a partner in the San Diego firm of Gray, Cary, Ames, and Frye. That firm is now part of DLA, one of the largest firms in the world.
He is President and CEO of Western Growers, representing the fresh produce industry in California and Arizona.
He is married to Zinetta Nassif and has two children, Jaisa and Christian and two grandsons, Anthony and Hunter.
