Mission Statement

At St. Anthony Orthodox Church it is our goal:

  1. To know, glorify and serve God in all we are and all we do
  2. To worship, in the English language, the One True God in the fullness of His Divine Revelation to us as the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  3. To live, both in our corporate and personal relationships with Him and one another, within the Kingdom of God.
  4. To proclaim the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to all in the greater San Diego area, by word and deed, in evangelism, mission, and charitable outreach.
  5. To grow in holiness by the Holy Spirit and our participation in the liturgical, sacramental, educational, and social ministries of our Church.
  6. To manifest the love of God to the world and ourselves, as an Orthodox Church for all Americans, regardless of their national origin, race or original spiritual backgrounds.
  7. To incarnate our Lord Jesus Christ in both our own person and our community, for the salvation of one another and all around us.

Orthodox Community

We are Part of a Bigger Community

We are a parish of the Diocese of Los Angeles and the West, which is a part of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. This is the largest archdiocese in the ancient Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, originally established by Sts. Peter and Paul, and where “the Disciples were first called Christians.”

St. Anthony’s is located in the Linda Vista community of San Diego. Our community has grown from a handful of visionary and motivated families to a full-sized parish working towards the continuous glorification of God in all that we do.

We strive to be of “one mind, and one accord,” caring for each other, and worshiping God in Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in the English language. We abide by the 2000-year-old teachings and practices of our Lord Jesus Christ, as kept by His Holy Apostles, and given to and preserved faithfully in a continual and unbroken succession of Holy Bishops and Saints to this day.
